Event

Save the date: the forum will be held on the 10th February 2018! We have an exciting line-up of speakers from around the world, workshops from local organisations actively engaging in sustainability, expert panels and debates on climate denial, plastic waste, community resilience and the outcomes of the COP23 talks. A full vegetarian/vegan buffet lunch from a local caterer will be provided, and the event will be followed by drinks at the venue bar!

Professor David Vaughan OBE, Director of Science at the British Antarctic Survey, will be giving the opening keynote address. His talk will focus on the challenges involved in making robust predictions of climate change and its associated impacts. David’s research interests lie in the field of glaciology, climate and sea-level rise, the role of ice in the Earth system and the societal implications of climate change and rising sea levels.

Sail Britain will also be participating in CCSF. Sail Britain engages people with the ocean through interdisciplinary sailing expeditions, and explores its cultural and environmental importance to inspire positive change. They work with artists, scientists, storytellers, communities and research organisations to increase ocean literacy through sailing and cultural exchange.
